Why I Started Floyet Labs & Technologies
Entrepreneurship was not something I originally planned for. My journey began simply as a software engineer who enjoyed building things.
Over the years, while working on different software projects and products, I started noticing a common pattern - many real-world businesses were still operating without proper digital tools.
Gyms were managing memberships using notebooks.
Small shops were tracking sales manually.
Many businesses relied on memory, WhatsApp messages, or paper records to run daily operations.
As a developer, I realized that many of these problems could be solved with simple and well-designed software.
That idea eventually led to the creation of Floyet Labs & Technologies.
The Motivation Behind Floyet Labs
The goal behind starting Floyet Labs was straightforward:
Build practical digital products that help real businesses operate better.
There are countless software tools available today, but many of them are built for large enterprises or require complex systems to use effectively.
Small businesses often need something different - tools that are:
- Simple
- Affordable
- Reliable
- Easy to adopt
Floyet Labs was founded with the idea of building technology specifically for these kinds of businesses.
Building Products Instead of Just Projects
During my time as a developer, I worked on many different applications and systems. While this experience helped me grow technically, I gradually became more interested in building products rather than just completing projects.
A product solves a recurring problem for many users.
Once a product is built and refined, it can continue helping businesses every day without starting from scratch each time.
This product mindset became the foundation for Floyet Labs.
Starting with Real Business Problems
Instead of trying to build generic software platforms, I chose to focus on very specific operational challenges faced by local businesses.
One of the first areas I focused on was the fitness industry.
Many gym owners were struggling with tasks such as:
- Managing member registrations
- Tracking fee payments
- Maintaining attendance records
- Sending payment reminders
Most of these processes were still done manually.
This led to the development of GymTie, a gym management platform designed to simplify these daily operations.
Building From Kerala
Floyet Labs & Technologies is based in Kozhikode, Kerala.
In the past, many people believed technology companies had to be located in major startup hubs. But with modern cloud infrastructure, remote collaboration, and global internet access, it is now possible to build products from almost anywhere.
Kerala has a strong technical community, talented developers, and a growing entrepreneurial mindset. These factors make it a great place to build technology products.
The Vision
The long-term vision for Floyet Labs is to continue building software products that help businesses become more efficient.
Instead of adding complexity, technology should reduce friction in daily operations.
By focusing on real-world problems and building practical solutions, I believe technology companies can create meaningful impact.
